I always was fascinated by fantastic creatures (I would not do this job otherwise!) especially the Little People, Fairies, Gnomes and … the Familiars.
Familiars are magical creatures, created or summoned by a wizard or sorcerer to be used as helpers in lots of tasks. A couple of examples of famous familiars: Archimedes, the Merlin’s owl in the Disney cartoon is perhaps the most famous, along with Harry Potter’s Edwige.
A few years ago I was hired for sculpting 3 of these creatures for the Kickstarter project “Pantheon of Chaos“, (you can see them here below)

From there I came up with the idea: to start a Kickstarer project to create a whole line of Familiars of different nature and origin that any roleplayer or wargamer could use in his campaigns in various ways: as real Familiar, with own game statistics, or simply as a marker to represent the knowledge of a spell, possession of a magic object or the passing of the turns (for example, to Blood Bowl) just to make a couple of examples.
So, more or less a year and a half ago I started to work on the project I called Adopt a Familiar starting to sculpt some of them (today I have done nine different critters yet) that I will show in this blog week after week.
The Adopt a Familiar project will start in mid-May 2018
